A Note to My 21 Year Old Self

I know you hurt with loneliness.

But think of all the things you have accomplished with God’s strength inside of you. You got through taking care of your sick mother for two months while she had cancer, changing her and giving her insulin shots every morning and night. You were the strength for your sister when you all had to say goodbye. You bravely walked through the valley of losing your mother with grace, even though many times you thought you would fall apart and go insane from the stress.

God was with you.

You got through so much in life, with God by your side. It truly was God who gave you the grace and the strength to make it through all of those rough patches of life. And He will get you through this one, too.

But you have to stop feeling so sorry for yourself. You have to stop looking for validation and security in the wrong places. And you must keep those eyes fixed on Jesus.
